Love it or Hate It – Social Media is an Essential Part of Estate Agency

Estate agency is not just about bricks and mortar, it should be about people, places, and possibilities. Even in the space of five years since we opened the business, we have seen how social media is an ever important way to connect with buyers, sellers, landlords, tenants and the community. Instagram in 2020 was seen as quite trivial to the business world. Now look at it. TikTok is going the same way. What’s next?

Of course we use Rightmove, Zoopla and OntheMarket but social media gives us a completely different way to showcase homes and highlight what makes our service stand out.

Reaching People Who Aren’t Even Looking (Yet)

One of the biggest benefits of social media is reaching people who aren’t actively looking on property portals. There are a lot of passive buyers out there, people who aren’t registered with an agent or trawling through listings, but would move tomorrow if the right home popped up. Research has shown that as many as two thirds of us would move if the right property came up. A single post can spark that interest. We have seen it happen where someone scrolls to one of our posts, falls in love with a place and suddenly booking a viewing. That’s the power of a well-placed photo or reel on the right platform.

 

Building Trust, Not Just Traffic

Social media also helps us to build relationships. People can see how we work, what we care about, and how we support our clients every step of the way. It’s our space to be open, approachable, and helpful. That goes a long way when someone’s choosing who to trust with their next move. Knowing Candice’s love of animals and Adran’s obsession with music and vinyl records just help to make us human and approachable, so clients are able to see beyond the estate agent.
